You need to be careful with what you are drinking.  Although coffee has a lot of health benefits but can also be a cause for you to gain weight.  If you consume coffee with lots of artificial flavors, dairy milk, and not to forget chocolate sprinkles, then it is very likely that coffee is more harmful to your health than beneficial.

To increase the overall health benefits with coffee, it is advised to drink it with soya milk or drink it plain. You can also drink or completely switch over to green tea because it is a very rich source of antioxidants which are beneficial for your health.

Summer drinks which are sweet and full of sugar, such as pina colada (pineapple juice mixed with rum and coconut milk) or margarita would double your sugar and the calorie intake of your body.  A full glass or a can of these summer drinks could provide you with 800 calories.  If you need cooling alcoholic beverages to share on a hot summer night, then its ideal to drink  mild lager beer or red wine.

Red wine helps in decreasing heart ailments and can also bring down cholestrerol levels, thus, eliminating chances of heart disease or high blood pressure.  Red-colored wine can even control the resistant system of the body.  Red wine also has polyphenol, which is an really good anti-oxidant for the body.

Polyphenols lowers blood pressure, cholesterol levels and any risks of cancer.  Polyphenols also have anti-fungal qualities.  Apart from polyphenols, red wine contains flavonoids, which also happens to be an excellent anti-oxidant for the body. Red wine can also be identified as a drink that reduces stress.  It possess a calming impact that can help the body to unwind and relax.

Before you buy some juice to drink, you need to read the label on it carefully about what is says.  There is a big difference between “made with real juice” and “100 % juice”.  There could be large amounts of unnatural sweetening products and large amount of fat laden calories contained in the juice.  Consuming real and natural juices can give your body the required vitamins and nutrients. There are some juice drinks that are not different from sipping on a glass of sweetened water.

No matter whether it is regular soda or diet soda, soda consumed in any form has zero nutritional value.  Unfortunately, soda is the most favorite and leading beverage although being counted as the most unhealthy drink. Studies have revealed that soda causes obesity.  Soda is well known to be high in sugar and calories. Even diet soda shows not much differences in sugar and calorie counts.  Both forms of soda, diet sodas and regular one are linked to weight gain.

Consuming soda has also relations with tooth decay.  It is still attributed to high consumption of sugars which is present in all soda drinks.  Caffeine is also present in sodas.  So children who drink too much sodas can develop caffeine dependence.  This may interfere with the development of the brain of children.  Although, this is not yet proven, several medical researchers and health care professionals are expressing concern.

Unfortunately, the number of unhealthy drinks compared to healthy drinks is very high in the market.  Many people are unaware of healthy drinks and unhealthy ones. Yes, we all know that we need to be aware of what we eat but we nevertheless ignore everything we drink.  Consequently, we definitely will be neglecting our healthy and proper mark.
